Dr. Michael Compton, DC, MSN, FNP-C

Board Certified Pain Management

Dr. Michael Compton has been licensed as a Doctor of Chiropractic, a registered nurse, and a Family Nurse Practitioner in Arizona since 2010, 2013, and 2015, respectively. He is board certified as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board; fellowship trained in pain management from the University of California, Davis, and holds a board certification in pain management. Dr. Compton has completed surgical First Assisting training from the National Institute of First Assisting and participates in the surgical treatment and management of neurological and orthopedic injuries. Dr. Compton’s clinical practice is focused on the treatment of patients with acute/sub-acute post-traumatic neurological, orthopedic, and pain conditions and associated long-term sequela. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Compton regularly provides clinical training as clinical faculty for post-graduate education. A common part of Dr. Compton’s practice is providing witness testimony and independent medical examination services for both plaintiff and defense counsel on liability and industrial injury claims. 

Dr. Ming-Jai Liu

Dr. Ming-Jai Liu is a board-certified neurologist, he joined Valley Neurology and Pain in April of 2023. Dr. Liu earned his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, completed the Internal Medicine internship, the neurology residency and fellowship in movement disorders at the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ. During that time, Dr. Liu earned the designation as Fellow of the Evelyn Kossak Movement Disorder Endowment from 2013-2015.

Dr. Liu also has extensive experience working with the Veterans Examination Services as an independent medical consultant in Phoenix, AZ. Also, he is experienced in medical intervention and utilizing botulinum toxins (Botox, Dysport, Myobloc, Xeomin) and nerve blocks; plus, planning and programming Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) to treat the following conditions: Ataxia, Blepharospasm, Cervicogenic/ Migraine Headache, Dystonia, Dementia, Epilepsy, essential tremor, Gillian Barre syndrome, Hemifacial Spasm, Myasthenia Gravis, Multiple System Atrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Neuropathies, Parkinson’s Disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Spasticity, Stroke, Tardive Dyskinesia, Tourette’s, Trigeminal Neuralgia, and other neurological conditions.

Dr. Liu grew up in Durango, Colorado after emigration from Taiwan. Before his pursuit of the medical field, he was a restaurant entrepreneur working along his parents who were teacher and retired veteran. Now, Dr. Liu has established his home in Arizona. He enjoys spending time with his family, working out, and taking part in outdoor activities. He speaks English and Mandarin fluently and medical Spanish.

Giuseppe Moro, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC

Giuseppe Moro is a first-generation Italian American and the proud son of immigrants from the Abruzzo region of central Italy. His academic and professional journey is marked by a unique blend of cultural richness and interdisciplinary expertise.

Nurse Practitioner Moro began his academic studies at the University at Buffalo, where he focused on classical Italian literature and language. His passion for helping others then led him to Hollywood, California, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree (Not licensed in Arizona, NV licensed). Recognizing the need for a more comprehensive approach to patient care, Mr. Moro furthered his education by becoming a nurse practitioner. He is board-certified as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).

In addition to his work in healthcare, Nurse Practitioner Moro is a credentialed special education teacher. He served as the lead case manager and special education teacher for one of the largest charter school networks in Los Angeles, California, where he supported diverse student populations with individualized learning and behavioral needs.

As a healthcare provider, Nurse Practitioner Moro takes an integrative and holistic approach to patient care. His philosophy centers on treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than merely managing symptoms. His services include:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
  • Evidence-based psychotherapy, including:
    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
    • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
